Automating Pre-Shipment Inspection with AI (VLM)
What's the challenge?
Visual pre-shipment inspection relies on individual expertise. The criteria of skilled inspectors are not shared, while inspection time and labor costs keep rising.
How do we approach it?
Automate defect detection using an on-premises local VLM (Qwen3-VL-8B). Based on measured sampling inspection data, we design an operation tuned to the line's requirements (accuracy and latency). Local processing also protects confidential image data.
What results can you expect?
Reduces inspection variability and dependence on individual expertise, and builds a foundation for quality improvement through accumulated inspection data.
